Originally from Mexico, Karina strives to create thrilling performances that also honor the cultures behind the dance styles that she teaches and performs.

 

In Southern California, she performs professionally and also promotes dance as a tool for social-emotional learning creating positive changes in our communities. You can be sure she will be the perfect guide, no matter if it is the first time you will experience these dance styles or if they have been a part of your life since childhood.

Karina has over 12 years of dance experience and education, including a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance and Anthropology by New Mexico State University, and a Certificate as a Social Emotional Arts Facilitator by UCLArts & Healing.

Karina directed World Dance Las Cruces in New Mexico, and now she performs with Jillina's Sahlala Dancers, Nonosina Polynesia, and as a soloist in California.
