About Hula and Polynesian Dances:

Polynesia is a large group of islands on the Pacific Ocean inside a triangle formed by Hawai'i, New Zealand, and Easter Island. Each island or group of islands has its variety of dances, but all share the love for sharing stories. Dance has always been an integral part of life in Polynesian . It is related to storytelling, history preservation, politics, family life, identity keeping, and even religious worship. Today, the dances performed for fun and entertainment are the most popular. For example, the O'tea from Tahiti is always present in shows and luaus because of its fast hips movements and the energetic percussive music.
